DC Ramban reviews arrangements for 77th Republic Day celebrations

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Friday chaired a meeting to review preparations for the 77th Republic Day celebrations at the District Headquarters.
The meeting was attended by senior officers of the civil administration, police, Army and paramilitary forces, including SSP Ramban Arun Gupta; SSP Traffic NHW Raja Adil Hamid Ganie; ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo; ACD Sheraz Ahmed, SDMs besides other concerned officers.
It was decided that the district-level function would be held at the District Police Lines Ground, where the National Flag would be unfurled by the Chief Guest, followed by a ceremonial march-past by various contingents.
Highlighting the significance of Republic Day, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to discharge their assigned roles and responsibilities diligently to ensure the smooth and grand conduct of the function. Committees were constituted for different arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all departmental heads to hoist the National Flag at their respective offices and ensure illumination of government buildings. He also directed NHAI and other concerned departments to illuminate identified bridges on NH-44 and other prominent structures across the district. Emphasizing public participation, he called for celebrating the occasion with full patriotic fervor and enthusiasm.
The DC further directed the concerned officers to ensure foolproof arrangements related to stage, seating, barricading, drinking water, power supply, sanitation, fire services, security, transportation, traffic regulation, and illumination.
He informed that similar functions will be organized at Sub-Division, Tehsil, Block and institutional levels, for which SDMs, Tehsildars and other concerned officers were directed to complete all necessary arrangements well in time.
During the meeting, SSP Ramban briefed the officers on security arrangements and sought cooperation from all stakeholders to maintain security during the celebrations.
