Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma Wednesday chaired the District level NCORD Committee meeting to review and strengthen the district’s anti-drug initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner inquired about the training of health officials & Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to be deployed for spreading community awareness in rural areas. Emphasis was also placed on the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals struggling with drug addiction.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner directed conducting a special drive for random drug detection tests of drivers. He also emphasized the importance of auditing shops near residential schools, hostels and university campuses to check illegal activities and verify the availability of mandatory CCTV surveillance.
Further, the meeting highlighted the need for checking food delivery personnel at institutional entrances and promoting computerized billing at medical shops to ensure transparency.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed to intensify the ongoing IEC campaign. He directed revenue officers to gather intelligence on potential hotspots of drug activity.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Gaurav Sikarwar; ADC, Chander Prakash; Nodal Officer, Mohammad Jangir; CMO, Dr Manohar Lal Rana; DSWO, Abdul Raheem and other district and sectoral officers.
