Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has attached double-storeyed residential house and double-storeyed shopping complex, along with land measuring 1 Kanal and 4 marlas, worth approximately Rs 3 crores here in Srinagar.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that the said properties belong to one Ajaz Ahmad Mir, a known drug peddler from Palpora Noorbagh against him a case under FIR No. 201/2022 under the NDPS Act, specifically sections 8 and 21 is already registered. The authorities have attached his properties, which were acquired through illicit proceeds from drug trafficking, in accordance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. This action was taken under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, following a thorough investigation. The attachment process was conducted legally and in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, ensuring adherence to established procedures. As a result of the attachment order, Mir is prohibited from selling, leasing, transferring, or altering the property in question until further notice. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug trafficking and dismantle the financial networks that support the narcotics trade. Emphasizing the importance of targeting both offenders and the proceeds of crime Police also appealed people to assistit by sharing credible inputs to help eradicate the drug problem from society.
