DLC Budgam approves 79 cases under PMAY-Urban 2.0

BUDGAM, DECEMBER 25: District Level Committee (DLC) meeting, held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat  today, accorded approval to 79 eligible cases under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0 in District Budgam, providing a major boost to the implementation of the flagship housing scheme.

During the meeting, fresh eligible cases under PMAY-Urban 2.0 were placed before the committee after due verification, scrutiny, and validation by the concerned Municipal Committees, strictly in accordance with the prescribed guidelines of the scheme.

Out of total approved cases,  18 pertain to Municipal Committee Budgam, 32 cases to Municipal Committee Beerwah, 17 to Municipal Committee Chadoora and 12 cases to Municipal Committee Charar-i-Sharief

On the occasion, the DC was informed that all approved cases fulfilled the eligibility criteria and documentation requirements laid down under PMAY-Urban 2.0.

The DC reiterated that the approval process under the scheme is being carried out in a transparent, fair, and time-bound manner, ensuring that benefits reach deserving urban households without delay. He stressed on the immediate grounding of all newly approved houses.

The DC directed that Urban Local Bodies must ensure timely issuance of permissions and provide handholding support to beneficiaries so that work begins without delay.

He said that the District administration is committed to the effective implementation of PMAY-Urban 2.0 and to ensuring timely delivery of housing assistance to eligible beneficiaries in the urban areas of the district.

Besides , ACR Budgam, CEO MC Budgam, LDM Budgam, EOs of all municipalities were present in the meeting.
