DC Ramban presides over Mega Public Outreach Camp at Neel- Ramsoo

Ramban: On the sixth day of Good Governance Week–2025, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan presided over a mega public outreach programme here at Neel in Sub-Division Ramsoo.
The outreach camp, organised under the “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” campaign, witnessed huge participation from the local populace.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls set up by the government departments to facilitate on-the-spot service delivery and grievance redressal. Interacting with the public, he emphasized that the initiative aims to bring the administration to the doorstep of the people, ensuring prompt, transparent and accountable delivery of government services.
Among others present on the occasion included SDM, Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah; CPO, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, besides district and sectoral officers and public representatives.
The public raised several issues and demands seeking adequate staff in schools, establishment of a New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC), maintenance of roads, inclusion of Neel on the tourism map, up-gradation of the Girls Middle School, installation of transformers and electric poles in the area.
People appreciated the Deputy Commissioner’s commitment towards resolving issues projected in previous meetings and informed that many of these concerns have already been addressed, including the construction of roadside drains. It was informed that several new roads have been sanctioned and taken up under Phase-IV of PMGSY.
Responding to the public demands, the Deputy Commissioner assured that the staff shortage in schools would be addressed shortly. The parents were advised to encourage their wards to attend online classes being conducted by experienced teachers.
The DC informed that two schools have already been upgraded and more proposals would be sent to the concerned department. Regarding healthcare facilities, he announced that funds would be soon provided for establishment of New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC). The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was asked to arrange the posting of a doctor at the upcoming facility.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited various areas including Batoo, Ukhral, Ramsoo and others. He interacted with the locals, listened to their issues, resolved most of them on the spot and issued directions to officers for the remaining matters.
The Deputy Commissioner also assured proper maintenance and macadamization of roads, installation of required electric poles and transformers to ensure adequate power supply. He assured to push for formulation of an action plan to tap the tourism potential of Neel.
He advised the people to proactively avail the benefits of the government welfare schemes and to seek guidance from the departmental stalls set up at the programme.
Meanwhile, the government functionaries encouraged the people to avail government schemes and services. They highlighted financial inclusion initiatives, PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana, JK Samadhan, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Kisan Credit Card, Inheritance Mutation Services, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, e-KYC (FCS & CA), DLC by Banks, PMAY (G & U), PMJAY–Sehat and BOCA registration along with awareness on public safety, women & child protection and drug abuse prevention.
At the end, the Deputy Commissioner handed over a cheque of ₹2 lakh to Maneera Begum, under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and inspected ongoing developmental works in the area.
Meanwhile, a similar outreach programme was held at Block Sangaldan. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gool, Imtiaz Ahmad interacted with the people. He emphasized that Good Governance Week is a people-centric initiative aimed at resolving public grievances, spreading awareness about welfare schemes and strengthening trust between citizens and the administration.
