DC B’pora Reviews R’Day Arrangements

Bandipora : Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, Wednesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers at the Conference Hall to review arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in the district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed preparations for the main function at S.K. Stadium, Bandipora, besides celebrations at Sub-Divisions Gurez and Sumbal and other designated locations. She was informed that preparations were well advanced, while emphasizing that there is always scope for improvement to make the celebrations more interesting and inspirational.
The Deputy Commissioner directed departments to ensure seamless arrangements for flag hoisting, Shahnai Vadan, march-past by contingents, cultural programmes, seating and dice arrangements, keeping in view the seating capacity and prevailing weather conditions.
She stressed theme-based cultural performances involving educational institutions, NSS volunteers, Scouts & Guides, musicians and local artists, with a District-level Committee tasked to scrutinize and finalise all cultural ite
The Deputy Commissioner further directed R&B and Municipal authorities to ensure proper illumination of government buildings, bridges and roundabouts, with financial institutions assisting in roundabout decorations.
Emphasis was laid on transport arrangements for school children, adequate medical and fire services, drinking water availability, heating arrangements, and minimizing waste generation.
The Deputy Commissioner also encouraged involvement of scheme beneficiaries for supplying refreshments and other items for government functions and proposed Bravery Awards for civilians on the occasion.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora; Commanding Officers of 14 RR, 13 RR, 27 RR and CRPF; Commandant 3rd Battalion CRPF; Commandant HQ 62 Battalion BSF; Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora; Programme Officer ICDS; Chief Planning Officer; Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sumbal; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat besides other concerned district and sectoral officers.
