Property of drug peddler worth ₹1 Cr attached in Srinagar: Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has attached a double-storey residential house valued at approximately ₹1 crore under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act here in Station Rainawari.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday police said that it has attached a double-storey residential house located on 12 marlas of land in Sultan Mohalla, Saidakadal, owned by one Nisar Ahmad Bota. The accused is implicated in FIR No. 39/2022 at Police Station Rainawari, facing charges under Sections 8/20–29 of the NDPS Act. Investigations revealed that the property was acquired through illicit proceeds from drug trafficking activities, leading to its attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. The attachment process adhered to legal protocols and was conducted in the presence of two independent witnesses. As per the attachment order, the owner is prohibited from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interests in the property until further notice. Police in its statement reiterated its commitment to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and enforce strict legal measures against individuals involved in the narcotics trade.
