LVM3-M6 launch a ‘proud milestone’ in India’s space journey : PM Modi

New Delhi|Dec, 24 :  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hailed the successful launch of the LVM3-M6 rocket, carrying the BlueBird Block-2 satellite, as a “proud milestone” in India’s space journey.
“A significant stride in India’s space sector. The successful LVM3-M6 launch, placing the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil, the spacecraft of the USA, BlueBird Block-2, into its intended orbit, marks a proud milestone in India’s space journey,” Modi said in a post on X.
The launch, which took place at 8:54 am from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, marks a significant stride in India’s space sector and reinforces the country’s growing role in the global commercial launch market. The BlueBird Block-2 satellite, built by US-based AST SpaceMobile, is the heaviest payload launched by LVM3 from Indian soil, weighing approximately 6,100 kg.
“It strengthens India’s heavy-lift launch capability and reinforces our growing role in the global commercial launch market. This is also reflective of our efforts towards an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Congratulations to our hardworking space scientists and engineers,” PM Modi said, asserting, “India continues to soar higher in the world of space!”
ISRO Chairman V Narayanan also congratulated the team, stating that the mission was a success, and highlighted India’s growing capabilities in space technology.
The LVM3-M6 launch is the sixth operational flight of the LVM3 rocket and marks a significant milestone in India’s commercial launch programme.
