This event, held at GGM Science College, Jammu, was aligned with UGC guidelines and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, preparing for the implementation of these revised programmes starting in the Academic Session 2026–27.
The workshop was presided over by Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar, Vice-Chancellor of CLUJ, with Prof. Mohammad Mobin, Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University of Srinagar, serving as the Chief Guest. The workshop began with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Dean of Academic Affairs, who outlined the objectives and emphasized the importance of clarity in learning outcomes, assessment strategies, and curriculum design for the transition to the new postgraduate programmes. Resource persons included Prof. Renu Nanda and Prof. J. N. Baliya, who highlighted the need for a student-centric curriculum that fosters competencies and holistic development in line with NEP 2020. Prof. Baliya specifically discussed the significance of measurable outcomes in education, advocating for a comprehensive LOCF that includes essential elements such as graduate attributes and learning outcomes. Prof. Mohammad Mobin, in his address, stressed the importance of academic rigor and flexibility in postgraduate curricula, noting that the LOCF serves as a framework to enhance quality and transparency in higher education. Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar reinforced the transformative potential of outcome-based education, highlighting its role in promoting academic flexibility and global competitiveness. The workshop saw active participation from various university stakeholders, including Registrars, Deans, and faculty members, reflecting a collective commitment to enhancing postgraduate education under the NEP framework. The event was coordinated by Prof. Zubair Kales, with Dr. Sugandha conducting the proceedings. The workshop concluded with an interactive session, further solidifying the university’s dedication to educational reform.
