Dir, BOG Chair, Registrar described it as a moment of pride for entire institute

Srinagar: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has been awarded the “Pride of Nation Award 2025 – Best Institution of Srinagar” for its significant contributions to nationalism, patriotism, and nation-building through various activities beyond academics.
The recognition was presented by Veterans India in collaboration with several esteemed organizations, including the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The award ceremony took place on December 16, 2025, coinciding with Vijay Diwas, a day commemorating India’s victory in the 1971 war. Dr. Milind Pralhad Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors at NIT Srinagar, expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting it as a testament to the institute’s commitment to fostering socially responsible and patriotic citizens. The award was accepted by Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, the Nodal Officer for the Pride of Nation Award and National Service Scheme (NSS) Coordinator, along with Dr. Ashok Kumar, acknowledging their roles in promoting community service and youth engagement through NSS-led initiatives. The recognition is based on data collected from various activities conducted throughout 2025 by the NSS, NCC, EBSB, and SAS at NIT Srinagar, with contributions from faculty members Dr. Manoj and Dr. Nitika Kundan. Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, the Director of NIT Srinagar, emphasized that the honor validates the institute’s holistic educational approach, which aims to instill leadership, patriotism, and a sense of service among students. He affirmed the institute’s commitment to expanding initiatives that align with national priorities and community development. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman expressed gratitude for the recognition, attributing the award to the collective efforts of the entire NIT Srinagar community. He noted that the institute’s administrative systems, academic programs, and student-led initiatives foster an environment that promotes discipline, values, and national service. Over the years, NIT Srinagar has established itself as a leading institution in Jammu and Kashmir, excelling not only in technical education but also in cultivating civic consciousness and national character.
