Modi realising Gandhi’s dream of Ram-Rajya, Cong used MGNREGA for votes only: Zorawar

Jammu, 21 December 2025:   J&K BJP spokesperson Zorawar Singh Jamwal, while reacting to the VB-GRAM G Bill replacing MGNREGA, said, “It was Mahatma Gandhi’s dream that farmers and villages be empowered so that India becomes self-reliant. That was his vision. Today, on the same foundation, Modi ji has unleashed waves of progress over the last 11–12 years, which is why the BJP has come to power.”
Taking a sharp dig at the Congress, the BJP spokesperson said that Congress only used MGNREGA as a political tool and failed to ensure transparency and sustainable livelihoods in rural areas. He alleged that under Congress rule, corruption, leakages and vote-bank politics weakened the scheme, while villages remained dependent and underdeveloped.
Jamwal further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has focused on outcome-based governance, rural infrastructure, skill development and self-employment. “Unlike Congress, which believed in temporary relief, the BJP believes in permanent solutions. VB-GRAM G is aimed at empowering villages, strengthening farmers, and making rural India economically independent,” he added.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal also said that calling policy reforms an “assassination” of Gandhi’s vision reflects Congress’s frustration after losing public trust. “Congress ruled for decades but failed to fulfil Gandhiji’s dream of strong villages, while the BJP is working to realise it on the ground. He further castigated Congress leadership for misleading the people of the Country on the issue and pointed out that Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of establishing Ram Rajya in India was never given a second thought by Congress in its 70 years of rule. Instead, its none other than BJP led NDA government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who in just last 11 to 12 years brought revolutionary reforms to make Country self-reliant as dreamt by Mahatma Gandhi.
The empowerment of Villages, farmers, labourers and women are examples to this fact, that has literally made Congress leadership in frustration mode.
“Which party or leader has objection on the name of Lord Ram? Who used to enchant Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Paavan Sita Ram?,” questioned Zorawar Singh Jamwal and added that “Even when Mahatma Gandhi breathed his last, Ram, Ram and Ram were the last words.”
“Except lip service, Congress didn’t nothing to promote Gandhi’s vision like promoting Swadeshi, however, it was BJP that has made production of Khaadi four times more in past just one decade,” added Zorawar Singh Jamwal.
