Reasi: On the second day of the week-long Good Governance Week campaign “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore”, the District Administration Reasi continued its extensive outreach activities under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Nidhi Malik. The initiative focused on strengthening grassroots governance and ensuring efficient delivery of public services to the people.
The line departments conducted awareness programmes, public interaction sessions, grievance redressal camps and service delivery activities at the village, panchayat and block levels across the district.
The Rural Development Department organised grievance redressal camps and cleanliness drives at Panchayats Arbais and Shadole in Block Gulabgarh, encouraging community participation and promoting sanitation and responsive governance at the grassroots level. The District Nodal Officer AYUSH conducted medical camps to provide healthcare services and spread awareness about preventive and alternative medicine.
The Sheep Husbandry Department organized a vaccination drive for livestock, focusing on animal health and disease prevention as part of the Good Governance Week activities.
The Sericulture Department, under the ATMA programme, organized a demonstration programme at Sungri, highlighting modern sericulture practices and government interventions aimed at enhancing farmers’ income and livelihood opportunities.
Additionally, awareness camps were held at AgharJitto and Marhi Panchayats, where beneficiaries were informed about the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), a flagship scheme providing financial assistance to pregnant and lactating mothers. The camps aimed to enhance awareness, address grievances and facilitate access to benefits under the scheme. Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) from all centres actively participated and registered eligible beneficiaries under PMMVY on the spot.
The Department of Agriculture organized farmers’ awareness camps at more than 20 locations across panchayats, Kisan Kendra Groups (KKGs), blocks and sub-divisions. The farmers were sensitized about key schemes including the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), JKCIP, Soil Health Card Scheme (SHC), with special emphasis on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). Farmers were advised to take advantage and register for the Crop Insurance scheme to overcome losses due to natural calamities.
The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to transparent, accountable and citizen-centric governance, emphasizing that such outreach initiatives under Good Governance Week will continue throughout the district to ensure inclusive development and effective service delivery to every section of society.
