Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has taken cognizance of a landslide incident that occurred at Khanpora on 19 December this year. The incident was caused due to illegal stone quarrying activities in the area, resulting in a sudden slide of debris and earth.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Police said that a recent landslide posed a significant threat to human life and raised concerns about potential damage to both public and private property. In response, a police team promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation, ensuring that no casualties occurred. Following the incident Police registered a case under FIR No. 219/2025 at Baramulla Police Station and initiated an investigation to identify those responsible for the landslide. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to public safety and pledged to take strict action against individuals involved in any illegal activities related to the incident.
