Srinagar : Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, Friday met several deputations at Srinagar and had extensive interaction with them to take stock of their concerns, demands and developmental aspirations.
The deputations highlighted a range of issues related to public service delivery, availability of essential commodities, strengthening of transport infrastructure, improvement in IT-enabled services, promotion of sports activities and welfare measures for youth. Besides, matters concerning local infrastructure, employment opportunities, consumer welfare and effective implementation of government schemes were also raised.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to each deputation and assured them that all their genuine issues would be examined and addressed in a time-bound manner. He emphasized that regular public outreach and direct engagement with the citizens form the cornerstone of effective governance.
Reiterating government’s firm resolve towards people-centric and transparent governance, Satish Sharma said that the present administration is committed to ensure that the policies and programmes are aligned with the real needs of the people.
The Minister stressed the importance of leveraging technology to improve the efficiency and transparency in service delivery, particularly in sectors like food supplies, transport and information technology. He also highlighted the government’s focus on empowering the youth through enhanced sports infrastructure, skill development initiatives and increased opportunities for participation at district, state and national level.
