Good Governance Week campaign begins in Poonch under “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore”

Central Prabhari Officer reviews progress achieved in Mankote block under ABP; public outreach camp held at Panchayat Sagra

Poonch: The Good Governance Week campaign under the nationwide initiative “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” was launched across the Poonch District.
Inaugural events were held across sub-divisions and tehsils, including Surankote, Mendhar, Mandi, Balakote, Mankote and Haveli. A series of field visits, inspections and public outreach programmes were conducted on the first day.
District Development Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma visited Panchayat Sagra, accompanying Central Prabhari Officer for Aspirational Block Mankote Vivek Gupta.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik; SDM Mendar Imran Kataria; ACD Shakeel Amhed Malik; DSEO (Nodal Officer ABP) Javid Ahmed; Chief Education Officer, Mukhtar Manhas; TehsildarMankote Maroof Ahmed Qadri; Executive Engineers, BDOs, Block and other concerned officers accompanied the CPO.
The Central Prabhari Officer inspected the health centre, Government High School, Tehsil Office and Anganwadi Centre to assess service delivery and infrastructure facilities at these institutions.
During the camp, issues related to the Health, Social Welfare, Education, Agriculture and allied departments were discussed in detail.
The Central Prabhari Officer directed the BDO and BMO to conduct inspections across all 11 health institutions in Block Mankote and submit a detailed report, highlighting infrastructure gaps and bottlenecks. He also instructed the CDPO and ABP Fellow to rectify data discrepancies in the JJM database and emphasized that corrections are essential for accurate KPI performance.
Further, directions were issued to the Lead Bank Manager to install an ATM at Mankote at the earliest to improve banking facilities for the local population.
Emphasizing the importance of education, the chair directed the concerned departments to adopt measures such as parent-teacher meetings and door-to-door awareness campaigns to enhance student retention and transition rates, with special focus on female students.
Meanwhile, SDM Surankote Farood Khan and concerned Tehsildars conducted Good Governance Week activities and public interactions in their respective jurisdictions.
