Jammu: In a significant step towards strengthening youth entrepreneurship and livelihood generation, the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) Jammu Thursday approved 273 new cases under Mission YUVA.
The approvals were granted at a combined meeting of the DLIC and members of the SBDU convened to scrutinise and approve cases received under the flagship initiative.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, who reiterated the district administration’s commitment to empowering youth through sustainable entrepreneurial opportunities and skill-based livelihoods.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sher Singh, Deputy Director DE&CC Jammu, Sunaina Saini, Assistant Director DE&CC Jammu, Mukhlis Ali and other members of the SBDU and DLIC.
During the meeting, a detailed review was undertaken on multiple key agenda items including SBDU verification and preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), bank sanctions and disbursement status, progress on onboarding of external trainers, onboarding of enterprises for enterprise mentorship, approval of completion requests by the DLIC and onboarding of motivators under Mission YUVA.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised timely coordination among departments, banks and implementing agencies to ensure swift sanctions, disbursement and handholding support to beneficiaries. He underlined the importance of quality mentorship, capacity building and continuous monitoring for the long-term success of youth-led enterprises.
With the approval of these new cases, Mission YUVA continues to gain momentum in Jammu district, reinforcing the administration’s vision of nurturing a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth.
