DC Srinagar visits Gangbugh area of City to inspect developmental projects

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay LabrooWednesday visited Gangbugh area of the City and conducted an on-site inspection of developmental projects to assess their progress and ensure timely completion aimed to improve civic amenities in the area.
Besides, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar and Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Qureshi, Superintendent Engineers of UEED, R&B and SMC, Executive Engineers R&B & PCD-I, Tehsildar South among others accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the work on the dewatering station being executed at the cost of Rs 1.16 crore to improve the civic amenities in the low-lying area of the City.
On the occasion, the DC was informed that over 50 percent of the project has been completed. The DC directed the concerned departments to expedite the project to improve drainage and enhance civic amenities for local residents. Emphasis was laid on maintaining quality standards and adhering to prescribed timelines.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the construction work of the truss girder Gangbugh Bridge being executed at Rs 15.53 crore.
Underlining the significance of the bridge in improving connectivity between various habitations of the area, the DC instructed the concerned executing agency to accelerate the pace of work and ensure the bridge is completed at the earliest for public convenience.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the administration’s commitment to strengthening urban infrastructure and directed officers to address bottlenecks, if any, for the timely execution of all the ongoing projects.
While interacting with the locals on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that all their genuine concerns raised shall be addressed at the earliest.
