Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that a police team from Police Post Wagoora, led by the Incharge, successfully intercepted two individuals at a checkpoint in Mangam Wagoora Crossing. The suspects, identified as Abdul Qayoom Lone and Suraj Ahmad Sheikh, were found in possession of a total of 10 grams of a contraband substance resembling heroin, along with cash amounts of ₹22,500 and ₹500. Following this incident, a case has been registered under FIR No. 90/2025 at Police Station Kreeri, and an investigation is currently underway. Police in its statement reiterated its commitment to combat drug-related issues in the district and appealed people to assist it by reporting any information related to drug trafficking or other criminal activities to the nearest police station.
