Rajouri : Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day with enthusiasm and academic spirit, featuring Shantmanu, IAS, as the Chief Guest.
The event began with the National Anthem and included the University Tarana and Quranic recitations, establishing a solemn atmosphere. Shri Shantmanu congratulated the University on its achievements over the past 22 years, commending the administration’s efforts in overcoming challenges and fostering excellence. He highlighted the University’s innovative initiatives and assured support from the administration for its future growth. During the celebration, two smart classrooms were inaugurated, and the campus community connect program was launched alongside an AI-for-language website and digital tools. The Registrar, Abhishek Sharma, delivered a welcome address, outlining the University’s significant accomplishments, including increased admissions, securing grants, and ongoing infrastructure developments. He noted the successful implementation of NEP-2020 and the organization of a Central Induction Programme for new students. A University Compendium showcasing the past year’s achievements was released, and the Community Connect Programme was introduced. Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal praised the faculty and staff for their dedication and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to becoming a center of academic and research excellence. The event also featured reflections on the University’s growth over the past two decades by Dr. Danish Iqbal Raina and Dr. Mamta Bhat. The program was conducted by Dr. Tanvir Ahmed and Dr. Mariya Aslam, with distinguished alumni recognized for their contributions. The celebration concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Prof. T. T. Xavier.
