Workshop on Distt-Level Youth Club Awareness under JKCIP held in B’gam

Budgam : district-level awareness workshop for Youth Clubs was organized Saturday, at Sheikh ul Alam Hall, Budgam, under the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project (JKCIP).
The workshop was inaugurated by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat.
Besides , ADC Budgam, CPO budgam,CAO ,employees of agriculture department Budgam , representatives from KVK budgam , the event witnessed participation from youth members across the district.
The workshop aimed at creating awareness regarding the objectives of JKCIP, with a focus on skill development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and active participation of youth in socio-economic and environmental development. The programme also emphasized the importance of youth engagement in promoting sustainable development initiatives at the grassroots level.
During the event , resource persons delivered informative sessions highlighting the opportunities available under JKCIP, government schemes for youth empowerment, and the role of collective youth action in driving sustainable development. Interactive discussions were held, providing a platform for participants to share their ideas, aspirations, and innovative solutions for community improvement.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC encouraged the youth to take active interest in sustainable agricultural practices. He stated that efficient usage of water, adoption of organic manures, crop rotation, soil conservation, and modern technology can significantly enhance agricultural productivity.
He emphasized that Krishi Vikas Kendras (KVKs) are being leveraged to educate youth and farmers about the latest innovations and scientific techniques in agriculture and farming.
He further stressed that environment-friendly farming, renewable energy in agriculture, and resource-efficient practices should be promoted at the local level.
He added that youth involvement in these initiatives can foster innovation, improve food security, and contribute to sustainable growth in the district.
The DC highlighted that youth should also focus on community-led initiatives such as cleanliness drives, water resource management, and eco-friendly development projects, which can create a positive impact while building leadership and teamwork skills.
He underscored that programmes like this are crucial for channeling the energy of young people into constructive, environmentally conscious, and skill-building activities.
The DC said district administration is committed towards organising similar capacity-building and awareness initiatives for youth in the future.
Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative and showed keen interest in contributing to the objectives of JKCIP through their respective youth clubs in the District.
