ARTO Rajouri disqualifies 12 DLs, suspends 7 RCs; Recovers ₹89,500 fine

Rajouri : Under the directions of Transport Commissioner J&K, Vishesh Paul Mahajan and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Rajesh Gupta has initiated a stringent enforcement action against traffic violators and criminal offences involving Vehicles.
As part of the drive, eight driving licences (DLs) were disqualified for involvement in NDPS Act cases on the recommendations of the Police. Additionally, four driving licences were disqualified in fatal accident cases, reflecting the administration’s zero-tolerance approach towards reckless and unlawful driving.
Further, four registration certificates (RCs) were suspended for involvement in bovine smuggling cases on police recommendations, while three RCs were suspended for repeated violations of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Meanwhile, the authorities, during the drive, challaned 58 vehicles and recovered a fine amounting to ₹89,500.
The ARTO Rajouri emphasized that such drives will continue in the future to ensure strict compliance with traffic laws, enhance road safety and curb criminal activities involving vehicles. He also urged vehicle owners and drivers to adhere strictly to the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act to avoid penal action.
