Srinagar: Security forces arrested a terrorist associate in Awantipora sub district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.
They said acting on a credible input about movement of one suspect at Naner Midoora, Awantipora Police, in a joint operation with Army’s 42 RR and 180 battalion CRPF, launched a search operation in the area.
“During the search, one terrorist associate identified as Musaib Nazir of Ladhoo Khrew associated with Jasih-e-Mohammad was apprehended and a grenade was recovered from his possession,” a police spokesman said.
Accordingly, an FIR was lodged under relevant sections of law registered at Police Station Awantipora.
“Further investigation has been initiated,” police said while terming the arrest a major success against the terror network.
