Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Friday launched the fourth batch of Management Development Programmes (MDPs) across 13 districts of the Union Territory under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme.
The initiative is funded by the Union Ministry of MSME and implemented in J&K by the Industries & Commerce Department.
MDPs were simultaneously inaugurated in Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar, Jammu, Kathua, Reasi, and Udhampur districts. A total of 270 participants, including 253 women, have enrolled for the 30-hour training programme scheduled over six days.
The district-level programmes are witnessing active participation from local MSMEs, who will receive practical training on modern business management. The initiative aims to upgrade managerial, financial, and operational capacities of entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale their enterprises, enhance competitiveness, and adopt sustainable business models.
The MDP curriculum features modules on business planning, marketing, digital tools, financial literacy, compliance, innovation, and leadership. It also includes case studies, mentorship, and experiential workshops to offer real-world exposure.
Over the next six days, entrepreneurs, aspiring business leaders, and MSME operators will engage with industry experts, JKEDI faculty, and certified trainers. The parallel rollout of MDPs in 13 districts ensures inclusive access to enterprise training, especially in remote areas.
Earlier MDPs conducted under the RAMP initiative in Kupwara, Kishtwar, and Ramban have successfully trained 58 participants, contributing to improved business practices and enhanced livelihood opportunities across the UT.
