Food Craft Institute Jammu hosts Junior Master Chef competition-2025

Jammu: An inter-school Junior Master Chef Competition was organized Friday on the premises of Food Craft Institute Jammu.
Teams from multiple schools participated in the Competition organized in Non-Fire Category and Fire Category. The students of classes 6th to 8th participated and showcased their talent without using fire, while the fire category was organized for 9th to 12th standard students.
At the outset, Principal of the Institute Jyoti Bhatti spoke at length about the purpose of holding the competition. “We have provided a platform to the aspiring students of Jammu to pursue a career in the hospitality sector for which the Food Craft Institute Jammu can be their ideal destination,” he added.
Special Secretary Skill Development Department J&K, Rajinder Kumar Sharma was the chief guest, while Additional Secretary Skill Development Department J&K, Rajeev Kumar attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. They encouraged the students to pursue a career in the hospitality sector for which there are ample opportunities at their doorstep.
As many as 86 students from 27 schools including government, private and Army schools participated in the event.
The elaborate menus prepared by the students ranged from regional ethnic cuisines and fusion dishes to continental cuisines.
A panel of experts consisting of Executive Chef Radisson Blu, Jammu Rajib Mitra; Chef Nayan from Amantaram Banquets & Restaurants and Chef Nikhil Sharma – an Entrepreneur judged the preparations in both fire and non-fire categories.
The Heritage School topped in the non-fire category, while Ram Universal School emerged as 1st Runner up & Army Public School Ratnuchack as 2nd Runner up.
The winner of the fire category was Army Public School Nagrota, while Army Public School Ratnuchack ended as the 1st Runner Up & Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School R.S.Pura as the 2nd Runner Up. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by senior faculty of the institute Gagan Deep.
