Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has cracked a major livestock theft case in Pulwama and recovered stolen sheep.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that a police party in Pulwama recovered 47 stolen sheep linked to Case FIR No. 282/2025 under Section 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The sheep were reported stolen from Banderpora during the night of November 17-18, 2025, and were located in Kulan Kangan, Ganderbal. During a thorough investigation, two suspects were arrested and identified as Ab Razak Bajad from Kandiyal Akhnoor and Mohd Jeelani Barghat from Dova Rajouri. However, three additional suspects—Mushtaq Ahmad Khari, Nazakket Ahmad Bokda, and Mohd Jaleeni Barghat—are still at large, and efforts are on to apprehend them promptly. The recovered sheep are being transported back to Pulwama to complete legal formalities and return them to their rightful owner.
