DC B’pora reviews readiness for upcoming immunization drive

Bandipora : Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, Thursday chaired a District Task Force (DTF) meeting to review preparations for the upcoming immunization programme in the district.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that 360 booths would be established, requiring 720 teams (two per booth). She directed the CMO to issue a detailed communication to all district heads of concerned department covering all aspects of the immunization plan, including home-based vaccination for differently-abled children and others unable to visit booths.
During the meeting, the DC urged Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and Police to finalise booth locations and ensure mobile teams in far-flungareas. She further directed BMO Bandipora to identify areas requiring mobile support.
The meeting also reviewed vaccine and cold chain arrangements, including the estimated 61,732 children below 5 years, OPV dose requirements, vials, vaccine carriers, and related logistics.
The DC stressed tracking non-local labour populations, including those in KV, JNV, factories, and other settlements, so that no eligible child is missed. High-risk areas were also discussed for focused coverage.
During the meeting, the DC directed the Health Department to involve ex-Sarpanchs, DDCs, BDCs, and ensure adequate manpower, including ASHA workers, MPHWs, Anganwadi workers and volunteers in the process. The DC directed PO ICDS to submit nominations within two days.
Reiterating the responsibility of all stakeholders, the Deputy Commissioner said, “No one should be left out, and this duty must be performed with utmost seriousness.”
Among others, the meeting was attended by DPO ICDS Bandipora; CMO Bandipora; DSWO Bandipora; MS DH Bandipora; DyCEO; DyCMO; DySP DAR and other concerned officers.
