Nearly 100 doctors engaged in deep-dive clinical discussions on critical-care techniques, emerging respiratory challenges, real-world case learnings

Srinagar : Paras Health Srinagar has initiated a significant knowledge-building effort in the region by hosting a high-level Pulmonology Continuing Medical Education (CME) session, which attracted nearly 100 doctors from across Kashmir. The event, themed “From Scope to Solution: The Changing Face of Pulmonary Care,” served as a platform for clinicians to address evolving respiratory challenges, discuss complex cases, and enhance their approaches to advanced pulmonary care.
The Pulmonology department at Paras Health Srinagar is equipped with advanced diagnostic and interventional capabilities, including Pulmonary Function Tests, Diffusing Capacity of the Lungs for Carbon Monoxide assessments, and various forms of Endobronchial Ultrasound. The department also offers 24-hour emergency support for acute respiratory cases, backed by a dedicated critical-care team led by Dr. Ali Imran, who manages an ICU equipped with modern technologies essential for comprehensive patient care. The CME featured prominent pulmonologists who shared their expertise on managing intricate respiratory conditions. Dr. Mohmad Yousoof Dar discussed interventions for high-risk patients, while Dr. Naeem Firdous Dar highlighted the expanding role of bronchoscopy in critical-care settings. Dr. Zubair Ahmed Thoker addressed the importance of preparing clinicians for atypical cases in pulmonology. Dr. Murtuza Habib, Facility Director at Paras Hospital Srinagar, emphasized the necessity of continuous knowledge exchange and updated clinical practices to elevate pulmonary care in Kashmir. He noted that empowering clinicians with the latest insights and technologies significantly improves patient outcomes across various care settings. The CME was well-received for its interactive and case-focused format, and Paras Hospital Srinagar plans to continue organizing similar academic forums to promote ongoing learning and strengthen specialist capabilities. This initiative aims to ensure that comprehensive pulmonary services, including ICU care and advanced interventions, are readily available within the region, thereby reducing the need for patients to seek specialized treatment outside Kashmir.
