MLA Lolab reviews stock & supply position of essential commodities in Machil Block

Kupwara : Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Lolab, Qaysar Jamshaid Lone Wednesday held an extensive tour of far flung border area Machill of Lolab Assembly Constituency to review the stock and supply position of essential commodities and winter preparedness of the line departments for the ensuing winter period.
The MLA visited different places of the Machill block during which he inspected Primary Health Centre Dudi, Receiving Station and other developmental projects.
While visiting PHC Dudi, the MLA inspected different sections of the health centre, besides interacting with the patients and doctors. He stressed upon the concerned officials to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital premises to avoid spreading of the infections. He also checked the duty roster of the doctors, paramedics and the staff and directed them to ensure their availability in the health center without showing any laxity.
The MLA also inspected the Receiving Station Machill and was informed about the damage of a panel. Due to prevailing weather conditions, the MLA directed the PDD officials for replacement of the panel on war footing basis which will be provided out of his CDF.
At Tehsil Headquarter Machill, the MLA chaired a meeting with various District and Block level officers to review the stock and supply position of essential commodities and winter preparedness of line departments including snow clearance measures.
The meeting was attended by ACD Kupwara, CMO, AD Fisheries, Executive Engineers of R&B/PHE/PMGSY; BDO, Tehsildar, and concerned officers of line departments.
Addressing the meeting, Qaysar Jamshaid Lone said that the far flung areas like Machill need special focus as it provides unique challenges for survival and development. He impressed upon all the officers of line departments to work with added zeal and enthusiasm for overall development of Machill which will ease out the sufferings of the people.
Reviewing the stock of essential commodities, the MLA was informed that sufficient stock of essential commodities including rice, atta and sugar is available in the godowns of Food department to cater to the needs of the local population during the winter season.
He also reviewed snow clearance measures and was informed that both R&B and PMGSY are clearing the roads in the block as and when snowfalls. He directed the concerned engineers to ensure availability of men and machinery in Mahcill for timely snow clearance as and when required.
Reviewing power scenario, the chair was informed that power supply is being provided on 12 hour schedule on daily basis to the people. He enquired about the buffer stock of transformers and asked the concerned engineers for supply of additional transformers so that people does not face any inconvenience duringwinters.
Regarding water supply, the MLA asked the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti for connecting the uncovered habitations and assured support from his side to ensure drinking water supply to the people living in difficult terrain.
The MLA took a detailed review of various other departments including Health, Rural Development, PWD, ICDS, Social Welfare, Handicrafts etc. and assessed their performance and progress in Machill block. He issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for resolving the grievances of the people on priority basis.
Later, the MLA inaugurated the Play groundMachill which has been constructed recently by the Rural Development department. He directed the BDO concerned for upgradation of the Playground as Stadium for the large benefit of the local youth. He also inaugurated the Government quarter at Machill.
