Ramban: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan Tuesday chaired a review meeting to assess the progress achieved under various schemes of the Rural Development Department (RDD), including District Capex Budget 2025-26, SDRF, SBM, PMAY-G, Awas Plus, Tribal Plan, MGNREGA, UT Capex and CDF.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR, Shokat Hayat Mattoo, CPO, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, ACD, Sheraz Ahmed, BDOs and Engineers of REW.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner issued a series of directions aimed at speeding up the execution of developmental works across the district. He instructed the ACD to submit daily progress reports for all schemes and projects to ensure timely completion and close monitoring.
To strengthen waste management infrastructure, the DC directed all BDOs to identify suitable land in coordination with the concerned Tehsildars for establishing Waste Treatment Plants in all 11 blocks of the district. He emphasized scientific waste management and also instructed officers to ensure door-to-door waste collection in every panchayat with active community participation.
Focusing on improving administrative and public infrastructure, the DC directed officers to identify land for the construction of Panchayat Ghars in all remaining panchayats. He further instructed ACD to locate suitable land for BDO offices and residential accommodations and submit detailed project proposals under SASCI amounting to rupees 2 crore at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of PMAY-G and directed BDOs to ensure completion of all sanctioned houses in their respective blocks. He directed them to conduct special awareness camps to motivate beneficiaries to start construction where installments have already been provided. He also stressed the need for Aadhaar seeding of all PMAY-G houses and e-KYC of MGNREGA job cards on a mission mode.
Highlighting the importance of community contribution, the DC reviewed the pending formalities related to gift deeds, particularly in cases where locals have donated land for Panchayat Ghars. He directed the BDOs and Tehsildars to expedite the documentation process without delay.
While reviewing the functioning of REW, the DC directed the Executive Engineer to immediately complete the tendering and allotment process of all pending works under the District Capex Budget. He instructed officers to complete both ongoing SOS works and newly approved projects within set timelines, ensuring 100% physical and financial progress.
The DC also directed the Executive Engineer JPDCL to provide electricity connections to Plastic Waste Management Units on priority.
Reviewing SDRF works, he stressed their timely execution and instructed officers to ensure that all completed development projects are made fully functional at the earliest so that public benefits are not delayed.
Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed all officers to address genuine public grievances on priority and ensure that developmental initiatives are implemented efficiently and transparently.
