Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has apprehended a long-time absconder who had been evading arrest for an extended period here in Anantnag.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that Rattan Chand, son of Vikru Chand and a resident of Gurah Kalyal, Billawar, was apprehended in connection with FIR No. 45/2013. This case involves serious charges under sections 366, 376, and 343 of the RPC, registered on May 15, 2013, at Police Station Achabal. Following extensive efforts and careful tracking, he was arrested in Mahanpur, Basohli, District Kathua. Police confirmed that Rattan Chand is now in custody and will be presented before the appropriate court for legal proceedings. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to locate and apprehend individuals attempting to evade legal accountability.
