Officials directed to ensure swift snow clearance, supply of essential services
Srinagar : Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Faz Lul Haseeb Wednesday chaired a joint meeting of District/Sectoral Officers of all line Departments at Meeting Hall of the DC Office to review the overall winter preparedness measures in Srinagar District.
The meeting emphasized the importance of comprehensive and coordinated plans among all line departments in Srinagar District to effectively manage snowfall, frost, and waterlogging, while ensuring the availability of essential supplies. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Commissioner highlighted the necessity for a robust mechanism for swift snow clearance, particularly on major roads, inner lanes, and critical service points such as those leading to hospitals and emergency services. Officers were instructed to adopt a proactive and strategic approach to snow clearance for both urban and rural areas, with a focus on deploying essential machinery and optimizing resources to restore connectivity promptly. The DC specifically directed departments, including MED, R&B, SMC, and PMGSY, to maintain readiness of machinery and manpower for snow removal, especially for emergency services and vital installations.
