World AIDS Day commemorated at GMC Srinagar

Srinagar: A program on World AIDS Day was conducted on Monday, at the auditorium of Government Medical College Srinagar which was organised by the Department of Community Medicine, Government Medical College Srinagar in collaboration with JK AIDS Control Society.

Prof Dr.Iffat hassan shah Principal/Dean, GMC Srinagar while inaugurating the event emphasised wider awareness among all stakeholders and upholding this year’s theme” Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response”, She complimented the Department of Community Medicine for conducting the program. Speaking on the occasion, Assistant director, JK AIDS Control Society, Imtiyaz Khan, gave a scenario of HIV/AIDS in J&K and efforts made by JKACS in this direction.

On the occasion, a health education skit and poster competition was conducted among medical students of GMC Srinagar. Certificates and mementoes were distributed amongst the participants and winners of poster competition and skit performers.
