Srinagar|June,28 : Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-
1. LG Reviews J&K Police Commando Training: This week, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Commando Training Centre (CTC) of Jammu and Kashmir Police at Sunjwan, Jammu, to review specialized training modules and operational preparedness. He interacted with trainees and was briefed on counter-terror, tactical, and other advanced courses. SSP Training and Special Operations presented plans for upgrading infrastructure and expanding the centre’s facilities.
2. CM Abdullah Signs MoU With NSE For SMEs : This week, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Industries & Commerce, J&K, and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The initiative aims to promote financial literacy, facilitate potential listing of local SMEs and MSMEs, and enhance market access and investment opportunities for regional enterprises. Deputy CM Surinder Kumar Choudhary and senior officials were present.
3. LG’s Call To Combat Radicalisation: This week, at the closing ceremony of the 69th National School Games, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha called upon youth to resist radicalisation and promote unity. He emphasized that young athletes are architects of the nation’s future and must drive social transformation. Sinha awarded trophies to winners and released a compendium from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, with competitions in Football, Wushu, Taekwondo, and Table Tennis.
4. CM Reviews Development Scenario In Poonch: Poonch, November 26, 2025: This week, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conducted a review of Poonch district’s development projects, focusing on fund utilisation, timelines, and visible outcomes. Ministers, MLAs, and district officials participated, highlighting infrastructure gaps and public service delivery issues. Abdullah directed departments to accelerate project execution to ensure timely benefits reach citizens.
5. LG’s Call For Revolutionary Youth Innovations: Jammu, November 26, 2025: This week, during the valedictory of ‘Yuvtarang’ at Cluster University, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged youth to innovate and shape society’s future. He highlighted the role of youthful energy and moral courage as catalysts for social transformation and technological advancement. Sinha felicitated top-performing students and awarded the rolling trophy to Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar.
6. CM Launches E-Auction Of Limestone Blocks : This week, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated the e-auction of seven limestone mineral blocks in J&K to enhance transparency and economic development. Supported by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, the initiative aims to unlock the potential of mineral-rich but underserved regions, boosting local revenue. Senior officials and industry representatives attended the event.
7. LG Highlights Role Of Poets In Nation-Building: This week, at a ‘Kavi Sammelan’ organized by Power Grid Corporation of India, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stressed the importance of literature in fostering unity and countering separatist narratives in Kashmir. He highlighted that poetry, music, and arts complement science and technology in promoting a self-reliant and inclusive India.
8. LG’s Stress On Constitutional Values In Governance: This week, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated the importance of upholding constitutional values, equity, and social justice. Highlighting the full applicability of constitutional provisions in J&K since 2019, he urged officials and citizens to strengthen national unity, ensure self-reliance, and make central schemes accessible to the lowest strata.
