Awantipora: The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) and Kashmir Care Foundation (KCF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI), education, climate awareness, and innovation-driven development in Jammu & Kashmir. The signing ceremony was held at the IUST main campus and was presided over by Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo, and President, Kashmir Care Foundation, Dr. Altaf Lal.
The event was attended by Prof. A. H. Moon, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Abdul Wahid Makhdoomi, Registrar IUST, senior faculty members, officials of IUST, and office bearers of KCF. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Romshoo emphasized the importance of integrating emerging technologies across the broader academic landscape and fostering societal development. He expressed confidence that the collaboration will “set new standards in STEM outreach, AI/ML education, and innovation, while nurturing future-ready talent in Jammu & Kashmir.”
Dr. Altaf Lal highlighted the foundation’s commitment to empowering young learners and educators. “This MoU expands our vision of building a technologically empowered society. Together with IUST, we aim to bring meaningful educational interventions to students and institutions across the region,” he said.
