B’pora: A preparatory meeting for the 4th National Lok Adalat, scheduled for 13 December 2025, was held Friday at the District Court Complex Bandipora under the chairmanship of Mir Wajahat, In-Charge Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman, DLSA) Bandipora.
The meeting was attended by, Chief Judicial Magistrate Bandipora Iqbal Ahmad Aakhoon; Secretary DLSA Sheikh Babar; Munsiff/JMIC Sumbal Rahila; Munsiff Gurez/ incharge ASMM Bandipora Mehak Mehboob; Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; representatives of banks and officers from Social Welfare, Revenue, Rural Development, Labour, Education, BSNL, PHE, PDD, Municipality, ICDS, Sakhi One-Stop Centre, Child Protection Unit and other departments.
The focus of the meeting was to identify settlement-capable cases across loan and recovery matters, welfare entitlements, pensions, scholarships, e-Shram and unorganised sector benefits, labour dues, public utility grievances, revenue corrections and compensation-linked matters. Departments were directed to submit their verified lists by 7 December 2025.
It was decided that Pre–Lok Adalat Conciliatory Benches will operate daily from 1–12 December 2025 for verification, consent facilitation and preparation of cases fit for settlement on Lok Adalat day. Emphasis was laid on joint verification, short-notice participation, and a cooperative, non-adversarial environment to ensure meaningful relief to citizens, particularly the elderly, widows, students, women, labourers and vulnerable groups.
On the occasion, the Chairman highlighted that the Lok Adalat is not a routine disposal drive but a collective governance responsibility, requiring every department to work together and not in isolation. He urged all the stakeholders present in the meeting to function as a single district team so that the relief delivered on 13 December becomes effective, enforceable and humane.
All officers assured full cooperation and readiness for the final preparatory phase beginning 1 December.
