DC G’bal reviews pace, progress of Cabling & Smart Metering under RDSS

Ganderbal: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore Thursday chaired a meeting to review the progress of smart meter installation and cabling works in all 77 feeders in the district.
At the outset, concerned officers briefed the meeting about the status of completed feeders, feeders where work is ongoing and where work is yet to be started.
The discussions focused on expediting installation, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring timely completion of cabling and smart metering under Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
DC urged for increased efforts, mobilization of resources, and better coordination between departments and executing agencies to meet project deadlines.
He emphasized the agencies undertaking both cabling and smart metering to increase the number of teams on ground to meet deadlines, coordinating with KPDCL.
DC directed them to furnish the list of manpower deployed to undertake the works, and also submit daily work done to his office.
He also directed Executive Engineer KPDCL to step up monitoring and submit feedback on status of metering from time to time.
Later DC also reviewed the progress achieved under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, and directed concerned officers to increase their efforts to extend benefits of the scheme to the public.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Manzoor Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Executive Engineer KPDCL, AEEs and representatives of NTPC.
