MC Rajouri holds capacity building prog to strengthen solid waste management across Distt

Rajouri : The Municipal Council Rajouri, in partnership with Swaaha Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. tuesday organised an Interactive Capacity Building Programme aimed at enhancing Solid Waste Management (SWM) practices in the district.
The programme focused on critical components of effective waste management such as source segregation, door-to-door collection, strict implementation of the Single-Use Plastic (SUP) ban, and promotion of RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principles.
The session was presided over by Yousuf ul Umar, CEO Municipal Council Rajouri, and attended by Priksha Sharma, Accounts Officer, former councillors, social activists and representatives of the Traders Federation Rajouri.
A detailed technical session was conducted by Tabraiz Madani, Capacity Building Expert from Swaaha Resource Management Pvt. Ltd., who provided valuable insights into modern waste management systems and highlighted the indispensable role of community involvement in achieving lasting cleanliness and sanitation outcomes.
Sanitary Inspectors, Supervisors, Taxation Staff, Data Entry Operators and Door-to-Door Waste Collection Drivers from all three Urban Local Bodies-Municipal Council Rajouri, Municipal Committee Thanamandi and Municipal Committee Kalakotealso participated.
An interactive discussion followed, during which field functionaries and participants shared practical suggestions for strengthening waste management systems within their respective areas.
The programme concluded on a constructive note, with all stakeholders reiterating their commitment to supporting the Municipal Council Rajouri’s vision of a clean, green and healthy Rajouri Town.
