DC B’gam Reviews Progress on Major Developmental Projects under Multiple Sectors

Dr Bilal directs executing agencies to accelerate the pace, Focus on Intensive monitoring

Budgam: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Tuesday convened a review meeting regarding the physical and financial progress of ongoing developmental projects under multiple sectors in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
A detailed review of schemes related to Revenue, Health, Education, Cultural Heritage, and other core infrastructure sectors was thoroughly examined.
Under the Revenue sector, progress of 12 revenue infrastructure projects approved under the Land Reforms Sector 2025–26 was reviewed. An expenditure of ₹59.91 lakh has been released so far. The status of each project was discussed in detail. The Construction of Tehsil Office Narbal Budgam with an estimated cost of ₹75.00 lakh was reviewed, and directions for expediting DPR finalisation were issued. He meeting was informed that the construction of Tehsil Office Magam Budgam worth ₹75.00 lakh is under progess, besides construction of Niyabat Office Humhama Budgam, Niyabat Office Shoolipora Budgam, and Construction of Niyabat Office Waterhail are also under progress.
While reviewing the construction of SDM Office Chadoora, instructions were issued for improving the pace of work.
Similarly, Additional rooms and lavatory at NayabatPoskher and Parnewa Budgam, upgradation of vacant government buildings into PatwarKhanas and augmentation of revenue infrastructure were reviewed.
The Chair was apprised that execution is being carried out through R&B authorities, and directions were issued for the early submission of pending DPRs.
Under Pradhan Mantri–Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) in the health sector, the establishment of BPHU/Six-Bedded Prefab Units was reviewed. The status of ongoing projects under the BPHU infrastructure initiative was discussed.
Progress at each site, such as CHC Magam, PHC Wadwan (Soibugh), PHC Khag, CHC Kremshore (Khansahib), PHC Kanir (Chadoora), PHC Ompora Budgam, CHC Beerwah, CHC Chadoora, CHC Khansahib, CHC Charisharief, PHC Hardpanzo (Khansahib), PHC WaterhailKhansahib, 100-Bedded CCB and DIPHL at District Hospital Budgam, was also discussed.
The DC was also apprised about the status of major hospital infrastructure upgrades for the 100-bedded CCB unit at DH Budgam and the DIPHL building. The DC directed for completing all health projects within predefined timelines.
Projects regarding the restoration and renovation of religious and heritage sites were also reviewed in the meeting. The works approved under the sector include Renovation of Ziyarat Shareef Peth Makhama Beerwah worth ₹150.00 lakh, Restoration of public amenities at Char-e-Sharief with ₹100.00 lakh, Renovation of Ziyarat Shareef Nowroaz Baba Khag with ₹100.00 lakh, Preservation of Ragney Mata Asthapan Temple RaythanKhansahib for ₹125.00 lakh, Renovation of Nanak Charan Astan Gurdwara Beerwah with cost of ₹282.00 lakh, Renovation of Ziyarat Samad Mir Sahib NambalharKremshore with cost of ₹125.00 lakh, Renovation of Swami Nand Lalji Ashram Hoshru Chadoora with ₹45.00 lakh, and Renovation of Ziyarat Syed Qasim Shah Balkhi Nowbugh Chadoora with ₹30.00 lakh were discussed in detail.
Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) Scheme, various projects such as Extension and Maintenance of Field Channels and Drains of CAD Project Budgam Chrar-e-Sharief Karewas, Development of Shrine Premises and Bada Talab at Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA), Construction of Additional Accommodation at SDH Khansahib Budgam, Construction of 1×50 mtr Span Steel Truss Girder Bridge at LahorichackNowpora, Construction of 2×25 mtr Span RCC Plate Girder Bridge at Chowdrigund on Nallah Apzari, Construction of 08-Room Double-Storey Building at BHSS Budgam, and Development of Khel Gaon Budgam were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
The DC instructed concerned officers to ensure structural safety and preservation standards and directed them to ensure fund utilization and adherence to quality standards.
Under the Education Sector, Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakaram (PMJVK) projects such as Construction of School Building at HS Dharmuna, Construction of School Building at MS Kainapora, MS Brenwar, MS ChakergamKhag, MS DrungKhag, BMS Ohanpora, and MS BabaporaMagam and development of infrastructure were also discussed in the meeting.
The DC directed all departments to ensure timely completion of projects, adherence to approved timelines, and strict monitoring of financial progress. Officers were directed to submit weekly progress reports to the District Administration. He directed all SDMs and executing agencies under key sectors to work in coordination to achieve the targets well in time.
The DC stressed timely estimation of all works and directed all concerned to ensure that the estimation process is completed in the shortest possible time. He also emphasized timely tendering and work execution and instructed that quality work is carried out on all projects to the satisfaction of the general public.
The DC emphasized that completion of these infrastructure projects will significantly enhance public service delivery and community welfare across Budgam.
Besides CPO Budgam, all SDMs, Executive Engineers of all departments, all Tehsildars, all AEEs and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
