Dulloo assesses Action Plan for Closing Ceremony of 75th Year of Constitution Adoption
Jammu : Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, Monday chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the grand celebration of Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) across J&K. The upcoming events on November 26, 2025, mark the culmination of the year-long commemorations of the 75th Year of adoption of the Constitution of India. The meeting besides Principal Secretary, Culture and Commissioner Secretary, GAD was attended by Secretary, School Education; Secretary, Law; DDG, NIC; ED, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society and other concerned officers.
Addressing the review meet Chief Secretary highlighted the administration’s goal of promoting the Constitution to a broader audience, aiming to foster emotional connections and public engagement. All departments have been directed to coordinate impactful activities for Constitution Day, set for November 26, 2025. The Principal Secretary of Culture, Brij Mohan Sharma, outlined the action plan, which includes a territory-wide ‘Mass Preamble Reading’ at 11:00 AM, synchronized with a national program, to be held in government offices, schools, and colleges in recognized languages. A special event titled ‘Run for Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity’ will take place at all District Headquarters to engage youth and the public. Schools and colleges will conduct assemblies focusing on the contributions of women in the Constituent Assembly, while wall art depicting the Preamble will be created in various public spaces. The action plan also features screenings of documentaries and films about the Constitution, utilizing resources from constitution75.com, and a webinar hosted by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. As of November 20, 2025, the year-long campaign has seen significant outreach, with 5,009 events conducted across Jammu and Kashmir by various departments. Key activities included 3,200 Oaths & Pledge events, 756 seminars and symposia, and 534 mass awareness drives, alongside 291 cultural and musical events and 132 Runs for Unity. The Chief Secretary encouraged public participation in a nationwide week-long campaign, which includes community dialogues, open debates, and online engagement, urging citizens to take the “Online Pledge” and participate in the Samvidhan Quiz on the MyGov.in portal. Nodal Officers and District Administrations have been tasked with documenting these celebrations and uploading reports and visual evidence to the official portal, www.constitution75.com, to preserve the memories of this national occasion.
