- LG Sinha To Citizens: “Uphold Sacrifices Of Police, Soldiers, Farmers”| This week Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the dream of an Aatma-Nirbhar Jammu & Kashmir rests on the dedication and sacrifices of police personnel, soldiers, farmers, youth and women. Speaking at the foundation day of Purmandal-Utterbehni Teerth Seva Nyas at Purmandal, he urged people to pledge not to let their efforts go in vain. The LG paid obeisance at the ancient Shiv Temple and attended the Devika Maha Aarti. He reiterated that the administration is committed to transforming Purmandal-Utterbehni into a world-class spiritual destination that promotes sustainable and culturally rich religious tourism.
- Omar Abdullah Meets Finance Minister, Seeks Enhanced Development Aid For J&K: This week Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday and discussed a wide range of developmental priorities for Jammu & Kashmir. The deliberations focused on strengthening core infrastructure, boosting investment opportunities and ensuring continued financial support for welfare-centric initiatives to improve public services and socio-economic growth in the Union Territory.
- Jammu Emerging As Key Trade, Logistics Hub|LG Sinha : This week, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said Jammu is rapidly evolving into a major trade and logistics hub linking Ladakh and Kashmir with India’s national trade corridors. Addressing the Jammu Trade and Logistics Conclave-2025 organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, he said that improved road and rail connectivity in recent years has unlocked the region’s vast potential. He highlighted that reforms under the National Logistics Policy, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have transformed digital integration, skill development and infrastructure planning. He called for smart logistics infrastructure to meet J&K’s growing developmental needs.
- LG Lays Foundation Stone For Houses For Shelling, Natural Calamity Victims : This week Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha laid the foundation stone for new houses for families affected by recent natural disasters and Pakistani shelling during Operation Sindoor in Poonch and Rajouri. A total of 133 houses in Poonch and 388 in Rajouri—all completely damaged—will be built free of cost with support from the High-range Rural Development Society (HRDS India). The LG said the Government of India remains committed to complete rehabilitation of affected families. He added that over ₹10 crore has already been provided as relief under SRE and central schemes, ensuring no family is left without basic needs.
- Omar Abdullah Inaugurates J&K Trade Fair, Stresses Role Of Entrepreneurship: This week, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated a two-day J&K Business & Trade Fair organised by District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with Mission YUVA. He inspected stalls, interacted with entrepreneurs and said government employment cannot cover all aspirants, making entrepreneurship essential for sustainable livelihood generation. The CM urged banks to ensure smooth disbursement of cases under entrepreneurship schemes and said Mission Youth aims to help young innovators become job creators. Sanction letters were also distributed among Mission YUVA beneficiaries.
- CM Omar Abdullah Visits Families Of Nowgam Blast Victims: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday visited families of two victims of the accidental explosion at Nowgam Police Station and offered condolences. He met the family of Late Arshid Ahmad Shah in Kulgam and later the family of Late Javid Mansoor Rather in Tral, assuring full government support during their time of grief. The CM said that while no compensation can replace a lost life, the administration will extend all possible assistance to the bereaved families.
