DC Srinagar conducts on site visit of Sanat Nagar Flyover, load testing underway for operationalisation of the flyover

Srinagar : Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Saturday conducted an on-site inspection of the Sanat Nagar Flyover to assess the pace and status of the ongoing work on the Rs 30 crore project aimed to decongesting traffic on the City’s busy bypass corridor.
SSP Traffic Police, Aijaz Ahmad; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid; Superintending Engineer R&B, Tetheer Manzoor; Executive Engineer R&B, Nasir Amin; Tehsildar Chanapora and other Officers and official accompanied the DC during the visit.
On the occasion, the DC reviewed the remaining works and inspected the concluding components of the project, which has entered its final stage of completion. He was further apprised that mandatory load testing of one tube has been already completed and second is expected to be done by tomorrow, paving the way for final finishing works. He was also informed that the installation of poles and lighting is also nearing completion, with only minor works pending before the structure becomes fully operational.
The DC directed the executing agencies to ensure expeditious completion of the remaining components while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. He emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to expedite the final touches so the key infrastructure project is thrown open for public use at the earliest, in sync with the safety norms and testing.
The DC added that the completion of the flyover is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the Sanat Nagar bypass corridor and provide major relief to the commuters.
