Transport Deptt Reasi holds awareness camp in Katra, Enforcement drive conducted in Reasi

Reasi: Transport Department Reasi headed by Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Nasir A. Khan Friday chaired a special awareness camp at the PWD Guest House Katra, attended by representatives of various transport unions. He listened to the issues raised by transporters, assured resolution of genuine concerns and stressed the need to address traffic congestion and improve traffic management in Katra town.
The ARTO urged hotel owners, drivers and transport union members to strictly follow transport rules to ensure smooth and safe traffic movement in the region.
As per directions of the Transport Commissioner J&K, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, an enforcement drive was also carried out in Simbal Chua and Sulla areas. Led by ARTO Reasi along with AMVI Surinder, MVTA Sikander and supporting staff, the team checked over 130 vehicles.
A total of 25 vehicles were e-challaned, 5 seized, 1 driving licence recommended for disqualification and fines amounting to ₹57,500 were imposed on violators.
