Property of Drug Peddler Worth ₹45 lacs attached in B’gam: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has attached immovable property worth approximately ₹45 lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Beerwah.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that the attached property, a single-storey residential house at Sadipora Beerwah belongs to Tanveer Ahmad Ganie S/o Mohd Yousuf Ganiewho was involved in FIR Nos. 02/2022, 13/2023 and 65/2024 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Beerwah. Investigation has revealed that the accused had acquired the said property through proceeds of illegal narcotics trafficking. Following due legal process and based on concrete evidence, the property has been formally seized and attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, appealing therein people to share any information regarding drug peddling and support efforts to build a drug-free society.
