BGSBU Talent Recognized by Leading Companies: VC

TPC Hosts Soft Skills,Entrepreneurship Sessions at School of Biosciences

Rajouri :The Training & Placement Cell (TPC) of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, organized two Career Guidance Sessions titled “Strategies of Facing Interviews / Soft Skills” and “Skill Development and Entrepreneurship” at the Conference Hall of the School of Biosciences & Biotechnology. Students from Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Environmental Sciences participated with great enthusiasm.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal commended the efforts of the Training and Placement Cell (TPC) for organizing a program aimed at enhancing student employability. He highlighted that graduates from BGSBU are increasingly securing positions in prominent organizations such as ICICI Bank, Della Resorts, Reliance Jio, and Okaya, underscoring the university’s dedication to quality education and skill-based training. Registrar Mr. Abhishek Sharma praised the TPC for its ongoing initiatives in career counseling and capacity building, noting that these programs significantly enhance student confidence and prepare them for emerging career opportunities. The event saw participation from 91 students, along with faculty members and officials, including Dr. Tanvir Ul Hassan Dar, Dr. Aasim Mir, Dr. Shafqat Nabi Mughal, and others. The program featured two key sessions. The first, led by Dr. Aasim Mir, focused on interview preparation, communication skills, body language, and confidence-building, emphasizing the importance of a strong self-introduction, organizational research, and mock interview practice. The second session, conducted by Dr. Shafqat Nabi Mughal, addressed essential technical skills and laboratory competencies relevant to the life sciences industry. He also encouraged students to consider entrepreneurship in emerging fields such as biotechnology startups, organic farming, diagnostics, waste management, and nutraceuticals.
