2- Day J&K Science Congress concludes at PSPS GCW Gandhinagar

Jammu : The Two-Day JK Science Congress-2025 concluded Friday at PSPS Government College for Women Gandhinagar.
The event was held in collaboration with J&K Science Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science & Technology.
The second day of the JK Science Congress 2025 commenced with a series of technical sessions. The experts and researchers deliberated on recent scientific advancements across various disciplines.
The plenary sessions were chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Garima Gupta, Professor of English, HOD Journalism and Media Studies, University of Jammu; Dr. Ashok Kumar, Assistant Professor, Central University of Jammu; Dr. Ajay Singh Dadwal, Associate Professor, GGM Science College, Jammu; and Dr. Princy Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Science, Central University and Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Associate Professor, Dept. of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu.
The academic momentum continued with paper presentations, where researchers presented their findings before a panel of evaluators. The sessions highlighted innovative ideas, regional research priorities and emerging scientific contributions.
The guests inspected the science project stalls, appreciating the creativity, innovation and scientific temperament displayed by the participants.
The formal function began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, the Principal. Prof. Shivani Sharma from Department of Botany presented the conference report, highlighting the overall achievements, participation statistics and academic outcomes of the Congress.
The session continued with a thought-provoking keynote address by Former Vice- Chancellor University of Jammu, Dr. R.D. Sharma. He emphasized the role of scientific innovation in regional and overall development.
The event was further enriched by the address of Guest of Honor, Vikram Randhawa, MLA Bahu, who highlighted the significance of science outreach and the necessity of bridging the gap between academia and society.
The Congress then moved towards its much-awaited award segment. Winners were felicitated with the Best Poster Award, Best Science Project Award and Best Oral Presentation Award to recognize the outstanding contribution in their respective categories.
Subash Chander, Special Secretary Higher Education JKUT was the Special Guest, Ankur Mahajan Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu was the Presiding Officer for the session. Assistant Director JKSTIC Shruti Khanna also graced the event. A memento presentation was also held to honour the dignitaries and guests.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Liquat Jafri, HOD Urdu. The session ended with the national anthem, followed by a group photograph, capturing the memorable occasions. The proceedings were conducted by Prof. Rippy Bawa and Prof. Suman Bala.
