Ramban| :  Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan Tuesday convened a Mega Public Outreach-cum-Awareness Camp at Ukhral, drawing massive participation from residents of adjoining panchayats.

The camp, organised under the weekly Block Diwas initiative, witnessed proactive grievances redressal, instant directives to concerned departments and a strong focus on accelerating developmental works in the region.

A large number of people from Panchal, Ukhral, Pogal, Bhingara, Alinbass, Pingloga, Hochak, Dhamasta, Sujmatna, Runigam, Maligam, Panla and other surrounding areas highlighted issues related to roads, power supply, health services, sanitation and overall infrastructure development. The Deputy Commissioner addressed most of the public grievances on the spot, issuing clear instructions to the district officers and executing departments to prompt redress of all issues.

The event was attended by DDC Member, Balbir Singh Bali; SDM Ramsoo, Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah; ACD, Sheraz Ahmed; CPO, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, CMO, CHO, CAO, CAHO, ALC, AD FCS&CA, Executive Engineers of PMGSY, PWD and several officials from line departments.

Responding to the sanitation needs of the area, the Deputy Commissioner directed the ACD to identify suitable land and prepare a plan for the construction of Community Sanitary Complexes at Ukhral and Magarkote, while ensuring proper upkeep of existing toilet units. He further instructed the department to ensure smooth execution of all sanctioned MGNREGA and other works.

Responding to the issues of road connectivity, the Deputy Commissioner directed Executive Engineer of PMGSY and PWD to immediately start maintenance work on drainages and expedite up-gradation of other ongoing road projects.

The DC directed JPDCL to upgrade power systems and the Social Welfare Department to ensure timely release of pensions. He instructed the ZEO to monitor schools regularly, while directing the Agriculture Department to provide seeds to farmers.

The DC said that such camps help bridge the gap between governance and the grassroots, ensuring timely resolution of public issues and accelerating development across Ramban.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner inspected stalls set up by various departments and banks, where officers provided on-spot services and disseminated information about government schemes.

Later, he visited CHC Ukhral and reviewed available health facilities and interacted with patients to assess the quality of healthcare services being provided.
