Budgam | :  Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee at the Conference Hall Budgam to review the status of road safety measures and enforcement of traffic regulations across the district.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordinated efforts to minimise road accidents and ensure safer travel for the public.

During the meeting, the DC emphasised the urgent need for strict and effective implementation of all road safety regulations in letter and spirit.

He called upon all concerned departments to reinforce road safety mechanisms, identify accident-prone locations, improve road infrastructure, and intensify enforcement of traffic rules.

The DC also stressed the importance of organising awareness programmes in schools, colleges and other institutions to promote a culture of safe and responsible road usage.

While discussing the traffic and safety measures concerning the ongoing Ring Road construction, the DC issued firm directions to ensure complete compliance.

The DC  also called for close coordination between NHAI, Ring Road authorities, the Traffic Police and the Transport Department so that no unauthorized public or commercial movement takes place on the under-construction project. He additionally directed that 100% CCTV installation shall be ensured at all entry and exit points of the project to curb violations and strengthen monitoring.

The DC Said that the district administration is committed to enhancing road safety standards and fostering a secure travel environment for the people of Budgam.

The meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, all SDMs, DySp Traffic Budgam, ARTO Budgam, Officers from NHAI and besides representatives of other concerned departments.
