Srinagar |: Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, attended a special event in Srinagar as the Chief Guest for the live release of the 21st installment of the PM KISAN scheme, aimed at supporting farmers.
The event, organized by the ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture & Leafy-Greens, gathered beneficiaries of the PM Kisan incentives, where Dr. Andrabi participated in a plantation drive to promote horticultural development. During the event, Dr. Andrabi engaged with farmers and ICAR-CITH staff, discussing success stories and government initiatives that enhance horticultural investments and profitability for farmers. She highlighted the significant advancements in Indian agriculture over the past eleven years under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting a technological revolution and welfare measures that have empowered the rural farming community. The event culminated in a live screening of the PM KISAN fund release, where 18,000 crore rupees were transferred to nine crore farmers through a Direct Benefit Transfer mechanism, marking it as the world’s largest initiative of its kind. Dr. Andrabi emphasized the empowerment and transparency this scheme brings to farmers, reflecting the strength of Modi’s India.
