NIT Srinagar hosts 5th TEDx Conference, Speakers share inspiring journeys with students

Srinagar : The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Tuesday hosted the 5th edition of its TEDx conference under the theme “Conclusions that Create Change.”
The TEDx NIT Srinagar conference, organized by the Department of Training and Placements, featured prominent speakers sharing their transformative life experiences with students. The event was attended by key figures including Incharge Director Prof. Roohie Naaz Mir, Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman, and Head of T&P Prof. Aijaz Ahmad Mir, who emphasized the importance of motivation in fostering self-belief among students. Prof. Mir highlighted that TEDx has become a vital part of the academic calendar at NIT Srinagar, facilitating interactions that inspire students to realize their potential. This year’s conference showcased a diverse lineup of speakers, including professionals from various fields such as governance, sports, cinema, and community service. Notable speakers included Jagdeep Singh, MMA fighter Owais Yaqoob, actor Mir Sarwar, filmmaker Dr. Sonali Gupta, and social worker Mr. Javed Ahmad. Their talks resonated with students, reflecting resilience and creativity while addressing the aspirations of both Kashmir and the global community. Registrar Prof. Atikur Rehman commended the organizers for fostering an environment conducive to student engagement with achievers, which broadens their understanding of real-world challenges. He reiterated NIT Srinagar’s commitment to nurturing creativity and critical thinking, ensuring students are prepared for global challenges through initiatives like TEDx. Additionally, Hiral from Fortinet discussed the evolving landscape of cybersecurity, stressing the importance of proactive security measures in today’s digital age. The event also featured a captivating performance by cultural artist Noor Mohammad, which celebrated Kashmiri heritage and set an inspiring tone for the conference. Overall, TEDx NIT Srinagar served as a platform for collaboration and exchange, bringing together students, faculty, and industry professionals for meaningful discussions and networking opportunities, aligning with the institute’s vision of holistic growth and academic excellence.
