DC B’pora holds first monthly interaction with beneficiaries under different schemes

Bandipora : Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, Tuesday chaired the first monthly interaction with beneficiaries of various sponsored schemes under HADP and other livelihood programmes at the Mini Secretariat.
Beneficiaries from different departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Handloom, Handicrafts, DIC and other departments shared their progress and concerns.
A beneficiary from Authwatoo briefed the Deputy Commissioner about purchasing a tractor under HADP with a ₹5 lakh subsidy, while a CSC operator from Kehnusa highlighted his custom hiring services. The DC urged all to motivate others to avail benefits under HADP and NRLM.
On the occasion, a sheep farmer from Sumbal narrated how training at SKUAST-K inspired him to expand his flock to 70 after receiving 50 ewes under HADP. Another beneficiary from Ajas, also received 50 ewes and sought support for a wool scouring unit.
The DC directed the DSHO to conduct mapping and submit a detailed feasibility report on wool processing, emphasising buyer satisfaction and exploring value-added products from Tulail sheep wool.
Entrepreneurs from Khan Flour Mills, Kaloosa and Bagh shared details of their flour processing, dairy, hydroponic, milk-processing and bag-manufacturing units.
The DC stressed the need for large-scale individual projects in Bandipora and urged banks to support high-value proposals.
A beneficiary from Gamroo, trained on the DAKSH portal, also shared progress on his dairy unit and heifer satellite component.
During the interaction, the DC said the monthly interactions would continue to provide a platform for reviewing grounded cases, promoting transparency, and strengthening departmental convergence to boost livelihood generation in the district.
Other beneficiaries also interacted with the Deputy Commissioner and shared their individual journeys of growth, challenges and expansion under various components of HADP and allied livelihood schemes. They spoke about the support received from different departments, the new opportunities created through training and subsidies, and their plans to scale up their units.
On the occasion, the DC appreciated their efforts and encouraged them to continue adopting innovative practices while motivating others in their communities to benefit from government schemes.
Among others, the interaction was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Bandipora, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Bandipora, Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora, representatives from other departments and beneficiaries.
